The symptoms of adult ADHD can bring about much disruption in one’s career, family life and relationships. At times, the many stressful events in life can further aggravate the already volatile situation. Being depressed is in fact a very natural reaction in these cases. Depression can become a very serious problem that further hinders a person’s capability to function normally in society. Most homeopathic ADHD remedies also integrate a few effective homeopathic depression remedies to provide a rather holistic approach in dealing with this problem. Listed below are some of the most popular homeopathic substances that serve to alleviate depressive symptoms.
Homeopathic proponents believe that Aurum metallicum is best suitable for those who become depressed due to consistent failure from set expectations. Similarly, arsenicum album can also be a good choice for perfectionist personalities who develop depression when their own standards are not being met consistently.
Being overworked and having to face stressful situations on a daily basis can not only takes its toll on one’s mind but also on the body. Adding ADHD into the equation can definitely make everyday life a troubling experience. Kali phosphoricum best works for those undergoing prolonged emotional stress or even over excitement and hyperactivity. Since some symptoms of ADHD can be manifested with nervousness and extreme frustration, proponents of homeopathy believe this substance can best work for such situations.

The substance sepia is another recommended homeopathic depression substance for the more introvert types of sufferers. These can be people who are rather detached and indifferent in most social situations. These people are often irritable and may find themselves preferring solitude over company. Ignatia amara is also suggested for those who are emotionally over sensitive and easily affected by negative events. Those with erratic mood swings may also benefit greatly from this homeopathic substance.
Many more studies are being done on other homeopathic substances and their efficacy in dealing with depressive symptoms that may arise from ADHD. Carefully following recommended dosages and frequencies in taking these substances should be followed as unknown harmful effects may arise from too much consumption.

Weight gain causes depression?
September 25th, 2011 by GuestPoster

Have you wondered if weight gain causes depression? Unfortunately, it does play a role. People who are usually picked on with their appearance will, in one way or another, feel depressed – young and adult alike. Sometimes, children and adolescence experience more stress coming from peer pressure about appearance and weight. For adults, it may cause depression when one can’t control weight. Even the process of finding the best way to lose belly fat or weight can be really depressing for some. Why is this so and how can we manage this? Find out some answers here.
Depression and weight
The feeling of dejection one gets during depression comes from the thought of one’s hopelessness and inadequacy. People who gained weight or even for those who have their weight like that ever since can feel hopelessness and inadequacy with their figure. This is an assumption, but if one person gets depressed about it, then it is a concern worth looking at. One can get depressed without really knowing why – this is not good. And sometimes if the depression attacks are more frequent, then it’s about time to address the issue.
Causes
It’s important to note the causes of weight gain as well. The causes of belly fat and weight gain may point to unhealthy eating and lifestyle, but have you considered that the incessant periods of depression may lead to an increased weight? This is quite common in women and some people may call this emotional eating. Whenever the person is depressed, one has a tendency to eat anything he or she likes to help rid off the feeling, also, they most likely spend the day lying or slacking around. You can just imagine a person getting depressed with their current weight only to do more fattening or weight gaining activities. There’s no ending to that.
Another important thing to note about causes is intake of fat. Taking too much fat especially the bad fat has shown to affect your balance in the body. People who eat more fat tend to feel lazy, easily stressed out and at times sulky and of course, depressed. It’s certainly one cause to consider.
Overall, depression is fine when a person can easily handle the cause of it. Weight gain is one that is not easily handled, getting depressed on something that you can’t do much about will only make the issue recurring. There’s no other way but to address the issue and start considering weight loss now.

Finding Help and Treatment For Social Anxiety Disorder
September 20th, 2011 by GuestPoster
![]()
What is social anxiety? This is a condition where those who experience it feel extremely uncomfortable in situations where there are multiple other people, or even one other person that they do not know. Some of the feelings that can be associated with this disorder are feeling inferior, feeling judged, feeling as if others are evaluating them, and feeling self-conscious. Often social anxiety is accompanied by some type of depression, because individuals can feel that their situation is hopeless and that they cannot get help.
Those who are most comfortable alone, but feel high levels of anxiety when they are in a social type of situation may have social anxiety disorder. These people are often suffering greatly inside and do not know how to overcome social anxiety disorder on their own.
In the past social anxiety disorder was known as social phobia. It has been discovered that previous estimates of the number of people who suffer from this disorder were far lower than the actual number of people affected by the disorder. There are a number of different disorders that can cause this response in people.
Those impacted are relieved to discover that there are therapies that are successful in helping to alleviate some of the feelings associated with social anxiety like fear of being around people, fear of rejection, etc. With the exception of those who suffer from a cognitive disease such as Alzheimer’s or dementia.
The brain is constantly changing, and this is how the therapy that addresses this disorder works. It teaches the brain to associate different feelings with social situations. However, this must be treated by someone who specializes in social anxiety disorder.
Getting the best specialist is about knowing what questions to ask and what to look for. Those who expect you to just start instantly exposing yourself to social situations more or just tell you that you are fine are not the ones that you are looking for. The professional needs to understand how you are feeling and be able to help you work through it.
Any medical professional that you speak to should encourage you to ask any questions that you have, and they should be more than willing to answer your questions or help you find answers. Those who are not personable or seem too by-the-book are usually not the best choice for a therapist to help with social anxiety disorder.

Finding Gratitude for Healthy Living

It’s inevitable that every person alive has at one point or another pondered the idea of what finding happiness really means for them. For some, it’s money (which usually don’t last long… both the happiness or money), for others it’s family, friends, or peace of mind. Regardless of what we think happiness is, there seems to be one common thread that re-appears no matter what our version of happiness looks like. That is any happiness contingent completely on outside sources (money, career, relationships) is fleeting at best and will never be satisfied completely.
Regardless of the circumstances in ones life, whether you’re happy now or suffer from alcohol depression, the idea that we must find happiness within ourselves is paramount to maintaining it. One thing we find is that once we find that inner-peace, we begin find happiness and thus gratitude for our lives. Gratitude brings about a feeling of happiness in the things, people, and experiences in our lives. It is clear by looking around that we take care of those things we’re grateful for. This is also true for the way we take care of our body.

If you take a look around at what people spend their most time caring for, that’s usually a good indication of what the hold value in or are grateful for. Yet so many people seem to neglect their body. This is because they continue to look for that happiness outside of themselves; through material possessions. By cleaning and shining their new car one more time they tend to feel better about themselves. Unfortunately, these feelings of happiness and self-worth are fleeting. Often people who have come close to death emerge changed and have a new gratitude and happiness about life. That is because they see how grateful they are to be alive.
What are you grateful for today?

Alcoholism Prevention and Treatment

Most people undermine the importance of alcoholism awareness. What many alcohol drinkers as well as their families do not realize is that alcoholism is a very definite problem that could ruin several lives at once and even cause death. This is because alcoholism eats away at the mind and body of the alcoholic within a 10-year cycle. The condition of being alcohol dependent occurs gradually but surely in three specific stages. Stage 3 alcoholics often suffer from heavy organ damage and are considered by some medical authorities to be beyond help.
The truth is that if the alcoholic is to quit his drinking habits, he must first win the short but brutal battle against alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Simply put, alcohol withdrawal syndrome is the culmination of the alcoholic’s drinking habits within a set of symptoms that assault him for a short span of time of about five days. Alcohol withdrawal syndrome is a medical condition that has been observed in alcoholics as early as the 1800s.
There are several classic alcohol withdrawal symptoms. The symptoms can range from mild to severe depending on the age, weight, and physical constitution and amount of exposure of the individual to alcohol. Fortunately, there is some consolation for hardcore alcoholics. Although they will experience the most intense symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, their bout with AWS will be mercifully short. It has been observed that the symptoms appear faster, but for a shorter duration for alcoholics.
The alcohol withdrawal timeline for a specific individual can be hard to point out. This is why a thorough examination by a physician who specializes in treating detox and alcohol withdrawal patients is always necessary before a patient attempts to undergo any sort of alcohol detoxification program. Alcohol detoxification is the process of training the body out of alcohol dependence and is usually accomplished with the use of drugs such as diazepam, barbiturates and anticonvulsants.
